You Asked for It: The Article on AI Without Coding Is Out!
Also Inside: A Limited-Time Offer
Hi,
Many of you asked for a foundational article you can refer to, cite, and share—especially in academic settings. I promised, before the summer is here, I will write it. And here it is: Conversational Analysis with AI – CA to the Power of AI: Rethinking Coding in Qualitative Analysis
The ideas for the article have been brewing ever since I experimented with AI-integration in traditional qualitative analysis software and apps like AILYZE or coloop. None of them did support me in the way how I envisioned qualitative analysis could look like in the age of genAI. The only way to make this vision come true was to build my own app.
I never believed in leaving AI to its own devices to do the analysis for you. Yes, it may sound sexier and probably sells better in this day and age where everything is expected to be done yesterday if an app promises instant analysis. But QInsights doesn’t do that! It still needs you and your expertise to deliver exceptional results.
In return, analysis becomes transparent, you do not feel lost, you can evaluate the outcome, you are still part of it. Apart from all of the other benefits if an app is built to fullfill academic standards in terms of quality, data security and privacy.
I am aware that QInsights isn’t for everyone.
Still committed to spending weeks coding data?
Afraid that you cannot publish your study, because you are at the forefront pioneering news ways of analysing data?
Instant insights are your thing.
Using ChatGPT or another chatbot for analysis? Then you are probably fine with quote-checking marathons, second-guessing sources and hallucinations.
If you believe only humans can analyze—but wouldn’t mind a very smart assistant—read on.
The only way of finding out, how it works, is by trying it out.
If you’re do not have a proper study right now, you can also use QInsights to:
Make sense of that folder full of articles you keep meaning to read: Upload them, ask Q to summarize, compare, or pull out key arguments.
Turn webinars, talks, or meetings into actionable takeaways: Transcribe audio and extract insights, main themes, or recommendations.
Analyze student feedback or workshop evaluations: Spot recurring themes or critical comments. Quick and dirty, also work in QInsights - in case you need insights fast :-).
Prep for a project or literature review: Upload background materials and use theme analysis to get a clear overview.
Clean out your digital drawer: You know, those field notes, rough transcripts, or voice memos that might be useful someday. QInsights can help you figure out what’s actually worth keeping.
Curate content from newsletters or comment threads: Got exported comments from LinkedIn, YouTube, or survey open-ends? Run a quick theme scan.
Write better: Upload your own draft articles or reports and ask critical questions: “Where is my argument unclear?” “What are the implicit assumptions?” - all in a secure enviroment, your own private space within QInsights.
Use it as your transcription and note-cleaning tool: Clean up voice memos, extract summaries, and search content easily—even when you’re just journaling or brainstorming.
See you at the other side? With kind regards,
Susanne
PS: Guided Analysis is coming. While talking to some of you, we learned that for many, it comes naturally to engage in dialogue with an AI assistant. Others still need to get used to it. In a way, talking to an AI is like learning how to “Google” when the internet was new. For all of you who still find it strange to talk rather than to code, we are currently working on teaching Q, the AI assistant in QInsights, to walk you through an analysis. This function will be added soon. If you're already comfortable conversing with Q, you're welcome to try it out too. It’s actually fun.
